About

The Cornhusker Hotel, Lincoln

The name "The Cornhusker" has been a fixture in Lincoln, Nebraska since 1926, and has been a part of the economic, political, and leisure activities of our vibrant community for over 75 years. In February of 1982, the original Cornhusker Hotel was imploded, and construction crews worked almost non-stop on this new addition to the Lincoln skyline. The current Cornhusker Hotel opened in December of 1983, magnificently replacing the building that stood for so long. The vision of owner David H. Murdock, The Cornhusker features Georgian architecture, lavishly colorful decor, hand-painted murals, a spiral grand staircase in the lobby, and unique "saw-tooth" windows on the building's exterior.
