Beginning with the prayers of Pastor Marlin Wismer of Covenant Presbyterian Church in the early 1980s, the vision of a daughter church began to spring forth from the life of the congregation. Following Wismer’s pastorate, the vision was kept alive by Pastor Hugh Barlett and then later Pastor Stu Kerns. By God’s grace, after years of prayer, much sowing and seeding, the vision was realized in the summer of 1998 when Zion Church (formerly Covenant Presbyterian Church) hired a church- planting intern.
